Ms. Andrea Boyd's Bio
Ms. Andrea Boyd is excited to join the Wilson Focus School family. She is an Omaha native and a graduate of Omaha Public Schools. Ms. Boyd graduated from Northwest Magnet High School and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she studied Communication Disorders, Education, and Psychology. She started her career in education working as a para-professional in an elementary school in Lincoln Public Schools. Ms. Boyd taught Resource at a Title I middle school in Colorado Springs, Colorado for three years before returning to teach in Omaha in 2017. This is Ms. Boyd’s 5th year in the classroom and she is excited to join the Lion staff, where she will serve as the Resource teacher, working with students in 3-6th grades. Ms. Boyd is passionate about getting students involved in their education and making learning exciting, relevant, and engaging for all learners.
Outside of school, Ms. Boyd enjoys hiking, spending time with her five siblings and their children, petting every cat or dog she passes on the street, and playing board games with her family and friends. She is also an advocate and coach for the Special Olympics of Nebraska and enjoys giving back to her community through community service. You can find Ms. Boyd in Lincoln cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Memorial Stadium almost every Saturday August through November!
