Wilson Focus School Partners

The Wilson Focus School is built around collaboration and cooperation, we could not survive without community support and the partnerships that continue to develop and keep us strong. Currently our partners are:

  • Parents Pride Group provides Parent/School support coordinating school activities, fundraisers, and family events.
  • Anti Defamation League fosters a “No Place for Hate” school environment, providing anti bullying teaching and reinforcement.
  • Alegent, through a grant, provides biofeedback software called HeartMath to help students handle stress.
  • Apple trains and provides ongoing support for our 1:1 computer/technology initiative.
  • Bag and Save, our neighborhood supermarket, provides food for parent/school events.
  • Building Bright Futures provides grants to support 40 Developmental Assets that children need to succeed.
  • Dairy Council (Nebraska) reinforces health and wellness through educational opportunities.
  • ENOA Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging sharing the Foster Grandparent Program with our school.
  • Fuel Up to Play 60 reinforces health and wellness with activities designed to track nutrition and exercise.
  • Gallup educates staff and students about their natural talents; Strength Finder (staff), Strengths Explorer (students).
  • HyVee provides food for parent/school events.
  • First National Bank of Omaha runs our in-school bank using students as tellers and teaching financial literacy to all students.
  • Kicking Tigers USA Taekwondo provides enrichment classes all year long in martial arts.
  • Lansky's Restaurant promotes family food nights.
  • Learning Community of Douglas and Sarpy Counties promotes equal educational opportunities for all students through open enrollment.
  • Live Well Omaha promotes health, wellness and good nutrition.
  • Nebraska Game and Parks provides training and a grant for an archery enrichment class.
  • Nebraska Wildlife Rehab, Inc. provides a grant to create an outdoor science classroom and habitat education program.
  • Omaha Astronomical Society provides a night with the stars as part of our sixth grade outdoor education.
  • Omaha School of Massage (Yoga) provides enrichment classes in yoga all year long.
  • University of Nebraska at OmahaEconomics Department provides financial literacy lessons and support for our bank.
  • Artery provides ballroom dance instruction for 5th grade that teaches poise and character.
  • Nebraska Arts Council provides an artist in residence grant to teach drama and leadership around black history.
  • Toast Masters provides instructors for enrichment classes.
  • Youth Frontiers provides a grant for our Kindness Retreat teaching problem solving and character development.
  • Sherwood Foundation provides funds for student support.
  • South High School (OPS) provides volunteers to assist enrichment/Youth Frontiers.
  • Teammates provides student mentoring.
  • Omaha Public Schools Foundation provides funding for enrichment activities, supports our in-school bank, and opportunities for our families. 
  • provides an Award winning library of stock music to our school.
  • Production Music and Instrumental Hip Hop Beats provides royalty free music for school projects.
  • YMCA Camp Kitaki provides an over-night outdoor education experience for our sixth graders.
