For those parents of beginning band and strings students, finding an instrument may be a challenge. I would like to take a moment to give you some ideas of places to look for an instrument in your price range.
After you and your child have decided on an instrument, the first place to look is probably going to be a music store. Look in the phone book, call around and ask about prices for buying and renting. Consider visiting a store.
Local online want ads are another place to look as well. People sell instruments locally on the internet every day.
Many pawn shops have instruments available as well, and some have a whole department just for music instruments.
Of course, don't forget to check with family, friends, neighbors, coworkers and others who may have an instrument in their household. Many times these "passed down" instruments are the solution to the instrument hunt.
As always, feel free to email me if you have any questions.
